Council ; 11:56 PM
Lots of things have happened since the last time I blogged. I have failed to get into council, felt depressed, picked myself up again, and now I'm enjoying my life to the fullest. Tiring though it is, I must admit that my current combination of CCAs provides lots of fun and are interesting too. Guitar, OAC and Frisbee. Yet, it is probably inevitable that I will have to drop 1. And I'm still running for Fac Comm.
Today was elections for Faculty Head. Sad to say, no one from the HSC made it. Yep. Absolutely no one. Last year there was still Guo Jie. It's these sort of things that make you think about the difference in systems between the High School Council and the College Council. It's hard to say, really. I would say both sides have their pros and cons (yes, typical answer), and I'm now too tired to really elaborate on this.
Anyway, Li Xiang talked to me a few days ago, and said that he really missed our HSC days. When meetings started 1 hour late, were probably full of crap talk, etc. He says that college council is too strict. That got me to reminiscence about my HSC days too. Can't say it wasn't fun, really. The times we all stayed up together, staying late together, pia-ing it out as One Council. Everyone clicking well, joking around, laming around, niao-ing each other, bitching around... Ha.. those were the days.
I guess part of my motivation (a rather huge part, really) in wanting to join college council was to try to relive those days. But then again, when you try to relive your memories, you may actually worsen your memories. Asin like it will take the good light off your memory. I guess I can't express this eloquently enough, but I hope you get my point. I guess I'm satisfied with keeping HSC as a wonderful part of my memory, my experiences, my life.
Oh yes, Li Xiang said that he really prefers HSC to college council. I was thinking about it, and wonders if he'll say the same thing at the end of J2.. After so many working events, late nights, will he say the same thing? I have my serious doubts.. And so i'm writing this done, and I'll check this out 1 year plus from now and see if it's true.. Hehe...
I guess I'll blog about Council in greater detail next time. Need to sleep now. Esperanza tomorrow!! My first concert ever! Wish us luck (:
